I bought one of these about a 3rd way through building my quite large garage. This was my first attempt at bricklaying and to be honest went really well (friends have been impressed how good it looks). Now as a complete novice I found it very hard to get a good even/equal bed of mortar down to lay the brick on. This to me seems would come with a lot of experience and is a bit of an art (unless you want to have lots of waste) - it's all in the wrist action!! This bit of kit changed all that and made it simple to get the bed of mortar down - easy!!!! I would happily say that I worked at least twice as fast...

We had to build a wall for this pesky conservatory so we bought this after it being recommended by a friend...the wall is now flying up he's done 3 courses in about an hour of block work 4 metres by 3 and a half metres two skins. As it was a nice afternoon and after reading the instructions, assembling it and trying a few dry runs, I decided to give it a trial for real on a wall I was going to build this weekend. The Bricky tool I bought from you a few weeks back was brilliant. My wife and I laid over 150 concrete blocks last week to make a long front wall. After the initail laying of the first course we were laying 30 blocks an hour...my wife was laying the mortar and I was putting the blocks on. We had loads of compliments saying how professional it looked. One man even stopped his car to watch us. We had a quote from a builder of £3,000. We did it ourselves for £400. I am a luxury residential contractor and I took on the project of laying the bricks on the exterior of the home that I am building with hesitation. I stumbled across the Bricky and thought that it is a good idea! I ordered one, and I can not tell you how easy it makes laying bricks! I used the Bricky to lay a brick veneer on the foundation for a house I am building. I have told several people how well it worked, and I know that it saved me a lot of cement mixing, because with this tool you waste very little mortar. I had only one experience laying brick on a small wall before starting this project. While it took me a while to complete the foundation, due to size and complexity, I know that the Bricky saved me a lot of time, and produced a much better result. Steve (North Carolina, USA)
